Loaves and Fishes
Volunteering at Loaves and Fishes usually occurs through someone’s church, company or civic group affiliation wanting to help feed people in need at one of our eight dining sites. Someone generally helps to organize a group of between ten and twenty volunteers so that once each month (or sometimes every other month) the group will purchase, prepare, serve, and clean-up the food for the evening meal at one of our eight locations. The number of meals served varies from site to site, however, 135 to 350 meals daily is the average. Providing respite and hospitality to the guests from the communities is part of the evening meal service.

To Volunteer:
Contact their central office during regular office hours and ask for the Volunteer and Community Relations Manager. Tell them you and/or your group is interested in becoming a Loaves and Fishes volunteer. Tell the office when and where you would be available and how many are in your group. Those individuals who contact the office that are not part of a larger group can generally be scheduled to work with smaller groups that need members on a regular basis.

Summer Adventure Playgrounds Teen Volunteer Program
The city of Bloominton feels that the Teen Volunteers are essential to the Playgrounds. Because of this, they have created a program to help you learn more about leadership, yourself, and helping others. You will get to do some really fun activities as a Teen Volunteer group that will help you to actively learn more about leadership. You will get the opportunity to show off the skills that you are learning through leading our playground kids in some games and activities.

The Teen Volunteer program will be housed at Countryside Park . This is different than in years past when teen volunteers would go to their neighborhood parks. You will be mentored by a Teen Volunteer Instructor as well as a Playground Instructor. You will learn how to run a playground and then assist in running the programming at Countryside. You will get to go on field trips during the weeks that you volunteer including the Friday swimming field trips!

So, you are probably wondering what this is going to look like, right?

Teen Volunteers will be transported to and from Countryside Park each day of their session.

Teen Volunteers must be between the ages of 13 and 15 during the session for which they are applying.

Teen Volunteer sessions are two weeks long: Session A runs Monday thru Friday June 18th-29th, Session B runs Monday thru Friday July 9th-20th.

We hope to see you soon!
